Salary ranges help candidates compare roles and help companies attract the right applicants. On Get on Board, full-time roles (and internships) require a salary range, while part-time and freelance roles do not.
How the minimum is calculated
When you create a job, the minimum salary requirement is calculated using:
- Minimum seniority level
- Job location (tenant multiplier)
Internships use a baseline minimum, and the platform rejects postings below that minimum.
Salary range width rules
To keep ranges realistic, the maximum salary cannot exceed roughly 1.7x the minimum salary (up to 70% higher). If the range is too wide, you must narrow it before publishing.
Low salary warnings
If your range is very close to the recommended minimum (based on seniority, location, category, and tech tags), you may see a warning suggesting adjustments.
We regularly update these thresholds to reflect market and cost-of-living changes.

Why you can’t offer a wider salary range
The maximum salary cannot be more than 1.7x the minimum. This keeps expectations aligned with a single seniority level and avoids ambiguous job postings.
If you need to hire for different seniority levels, create separate jobs with different ranges.
