How to get a Lever v1 API key (Data API key)

To enable the full Lever integration with Get on Board, including candidate exports, you need a Lever Data API v1 key.

Steps to get a v1 API key

1. Log in to Lever with a Super Admin account.
2. Go to Settings → Integrations → API Credentials. (You can open it directly at https://hire.lever.co/settings/integrations?tab=api.)
3. Create a new API key and name it (for example, “Get on Board integration”).
4. Copy the key and store it securely.
5. In Get on Board, open the Lever integration settings, enter your Lever site name (from jobs.lever.co/<site>), paste the key, and check the API version.

How to tell if you have the right key

• v1 (Data API): Full support for job imports and candidate exports.
• v0 (Postings API only): Job imports work, but candidate exports fail.

If Get on Board detects a v0 key, you will see a warning during setup. In that case, contact Lever support to upgrade to a Data API key.
