How does the Get on Board matching algorithm work to find tech talent?

One thing that makes Get on Board unique as a recruiting platform is the ability to evaluate signals not only from professionals and job ads, but also from their interaction and success finding each other.

Our algorithms detect and weigh hundreds of signals, such as candidates hired or discarded for different reasons across multiple selection processes. This helps determine the relevance of jobs and professionals relative to a curated list of tags (technologies, tools, and skills).

We use those signals to build a heat map for each professional, where some technologies and skills weigh more than others. We then filter by additional parameters like job location, salary, and experience level to match a specific job ad.

How results are ranked

After a match, a second algorithm reorders applicants to show those with stronger Get on Board history first. This history considers past application outcomes compared to other candidates in the same process.

These algorithms run when Boost is activated for a job and in Talent Database search results, where companies perform their searches.
