On Get on Board, if you are a professional, your salary expectation is part of your application. It helps companies compare candidates for a specific job.
Short answer
No company sees the amount before you apply. But the minimum on your profile does act as a filter: a company searching Talent Database can ask to see only profiles whose minimum is under a number they choose. The amount itself is never displayed there.
When companies see the amount
A company sees your salary expectation when you submit an application to it. From that point the company can also:
- Sort and filter its applicant list by that amount.
- Include it in the CSV file it exports with its applicants.
- Send it to its own recruiting software (for example Lever) if it has set up that integration.
Once the company has exported it, that copy is outside Get on Board and this help article no longer describes what happens to it.
Where else the amount goes
Your salary expectation is not only read by the company you applied to:
- We send it to our artificial intelligence provider to compute your compatibility score and the summary of your application.
- We send the minimum on your profile as a profile property to our product analytics provider.
- We include it, together with other people’s, in the aggregate salary statistics we publish.

What can be seen before you apply
In Talent Database, companies can view a profile preview to decide whether to invite you. Contact details and CV stay protected until an unlock or acceptance, depending on the flow.
If you prefer not to appear in searches while updating your profile, you can turn off Talent Database visibility and enable it again when you are ready to receive invitations.
